Autogenic Training (AT)

 

Autogenic Training (AT) is a pleasant relaxation technique which can be learned easily and applied for a few minutes a day at your leisure, irrespective how busy your schedule is. Mental exercises are performed to reach a state of ‘passive concentration’.

AT is an effective method of preventive health care and a method supporting the recovery from illness. Select insurances in Europe pay exercises in AT for their members.

 
Next to the uses of AT in medicine, AT has also been successfully applied to optimize physical human performance in sports or to assist in creative or intellectual work in school or the work place. NASA teaches AT to their astronauts to better cope with the confinement of space vehicles in an anti gravity environment.  
Once you are trained in the basics of AT, you can begin applying its principles for yourself at your own leisure, gradually becoming part of a health-promoting life-style.
